TODAY’S CHUCKLE

Bungee Jumping

Two entrepreneurs, Jack and John, decided to start a bungee-jumping business south of the border. They went to Casa del Sol, Mexico, built a huge platform, and opened for business. By noon the first day, they both noticed that while everyone was watching, no one was buying tickets.

Jack told John to go up and jump, so everyone could see how much fun it was, and then they would buy tickets and try it.

John jumped, almost reached the ground, and sprang back up. Jack saw that his shirt was torn and his hair was mussed. John came down again and sprang back up. This time he had several bruises and his clothes were ripped to shreds. The third time down and back up, and he had several open wounds, a broken arm, and was bruised over most of his body.

Jack quickly raised John to the platform and asked him what in the world was going on.

John replied, "I'm not sure. Do you know what 'piñata' means?"

Pastor’s “Golden Nugget”

Fatherless Homes

The statistics blew my mind! Hey guys, I bet you had no idea that so many people depended on you. If you get to thinking about it, it’s one of those WOW things! I really had no idea.

I remember that our parents always told us to take care of our younger siblings. We were always left in charge when our parents were away. The older we got, the more responsibility we had. My, how time flies.
Now, we have people looking at us to carry out our commitment for the reason they hired us. Now, my wife counts on, and believes in me, to protect, provide, and carry out my responsibilities as a husband and father. Yes, now I am a dad. Wow, now I have even more people counting on me. I now have to make sure my children are led the right way, cared for, and loved very much.

I always looked at myself as a nobody and thought no one needed me – I’m not important – I’m not trustworthy. Man, was I wrong!

God has seen me as trustworthy because He has put all these people in my life – from my youth to my NOW who really count on me. My siblings, my employer, my wife, my family, my church – and, I can’t afford to let them down.

So remember guys – there are a whole lot of eyes watching and many hearts trusting that we men will continue to be there for them – WOW, WHAT A RESPONSIBILITY!
